Education & Career

Power Hour

Power Hour: Making Minutes Count helps Club members ages 6-18 achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities and encouraging members to become self-directed learners. Printed program materials include a resource guide for program coordinators, homework helpers and tutors and a poster-sized Power Points chart for tracking and rewarding participants’ progress.

 

Project Learn

Project Learn reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school during the hours they spend at the Club. High-yield learning activities.

 

Money Matters

Money Matters promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills.

Brain Gain

Brain Gain is a summer learning program developed to help Club members retain materials learned during the school year through enriching summer activities.

 

Kids drone Zone

Promotes the STEM engagement in members ages 10 & up. This program provides members with the skills to build and fly drone. This is a exciting way to engage students in enginnering, aircraft mechanics and aviation.

keep calm and do yoga

Yoga embraces the power of relaxation. This program allows members of all ages to meditate and reflect on their day to day activities. This also helps members to share the exercises and experiences outside of the Club.

Health & Life Skills

SMART Girls

SMART Girls is a small-group health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement program designed to meet the developmental needs of girls in three age groups. Through dynamic sessions, highly participatory activities, field trips and mentoring opportunities with adult women, Club girls explore their own and societal attitudes and values as they build skills for eating right, staying physically fit, getting good health care and developing positive relationships with peers and adults.

Passport to Manhood

Passport to Manhood promotes and teaches responsibility in Club boys ages 8-17. There are 14 sessions, each of which concentrates on a specific aspect of manhood through highly interactive activities. Each Club participant receives his own “passport” to underscore the notion that he is on a personal journey of maturation and growth.

Epic

Epic is a sewing program that allows members ages 9-12 to express their creativity and imaginaiton while learning the fundamentals skills of sewing. This program also encourages member to be confident in their choices and who they are.

the first tee

First Tee introduces youth ages 7 to 13. It mission is to impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

 

Healthy Habits

Healthy Habits is the “Mind” component of the Triple Play program. The Healthy Habits curriculum is designed to teach young people about the benefits of developing healthy habits such as eating smart and being physically active; equip young people with skills to adopt healthier habits by participating in fun and engaging learning activities both at the Club and at home; and encourage young people to take small steps toward positive behavior changes.

Keystone

Keystone is the Boys & Girls Club Movement’s most dynamic teen program. It affords teens an opportunity to gain valuable leadership and service experience. They conduct activities in three areas: academic success, career exploration and community service.

 

Torch Club

Torch Clubs are chartered small-group leadership and service clubs for boys and girls ages 11-13. A Torch Club is a powerful vehicle through which Club staff can help meet the special character development needs of younger adolescents at a critical stage in their development.

Youth of the Year

Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s premier recognition program, celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club members. Each year, one exceptional young person from a Boys & Girls Club rises to the role of National Youth of the Year. The National Youth of the Year serves as both an exemplary ambassador for Boys & Girls Club youth and as a strong voice for all of our nation’s young people.The journey to being named National Youth of the Year begins locally and progresses to state, regional and national levels, with an additional military phase for members of BGCA-affiliated Youth Centers on U.S. military installations.

Lyricism 101 is a program intentionally includes proven youth development practices & creative activities that build and expand the literary skills of our teens, while exposing them to the art of hip hop, particularly cipher culture.
